After being in business for two years, many days of debating with myself, and lots of Pinterest searching I decided that a studio was a good decision. I had high hopes of having the studio ready for Mother’s Day Mini Sessions, but with several set-backs and a very cold spring that goal was not met. We are still in the process putting in floors, trimming the floors and windows, and fixing a few problems, but hopes are for a finished studio by the end of summer.
I have a vision for this studio that is a little different from most. Eventually, I will most likely offer some backdrop options, but for the time being I want to focus on my vision of a white, crisp clean studio where I can create lifestyle type portraits for my clients. In one corner I will have a bed with white pillows and use an assortment of blankets to provide a homey feel. (I can already picture my clients jumping on the bed and peeking out from under the sheets) In another corner will be a couch, something modern, perfect for reading a book or snuggling with mom. There will be an open space where little girls can spin in flowing dresses and baby boys can walk holding daddy’s hands.
I can’t wait for the many milestones your children will have documented here, the families that will gather and laugh, and the memories that I will capture to be hung on walls and last a lifetime.
For now it is half ready and I am having fun getting used to this space.
